MedPulse started at our kitchen table. My wife was deep in residency, and one night I watched her sit down with a printed research paper, highlighter in hand, trying to pull out what actually mattered before her next shift. It was slow, it was tedious, and it was happening at the one hour of the day I actually got to see her. I couldn't get past that; someone with almost no spare time was still stuck doing manual, paper-and-highlighter work just to stay current.

That got me digging into how much quality research gets published and never reaches the people who need it, not because it isn't valuable, but because nobody has time to read it. So I built MedPulse: a daily podcast covering the most groundbreaking, potentially practice-changing research out there, broken down into an easy-to-digest format. The kind of thing you can take in on a morning walk with the dog or your commute to work.

MedPulse is for anyone who wants to stay current on the most impactful medical research without the hassle, especially people who, like my wife, don't have a spare hour to spend digging through research.

I'm not a clinician, but I'm not new to healthcare either. I studied cell biology and neuroscience, and spent time working as an EMT and phlebotomist, hands-on, patient-facing work that gave me a real feel for how research eventually shows up in everyday care. That background is what gives me the ability to read a study and pull out the parts that matter. I've spent the better part of the last year figuring out what makes research worth covering, and I look to my more qualified friends and colleagues in healthcare to keep me honest.
